The Residents Electoral Commissioner of Cross Rivers Advises the Political Parties.

The INEC Residents Electoral Commissioner(REC) of Rivers State advised the state political parties to start training there party members on how to maintain good morals during elections.

Dr Emmanuel Hart ( The REC) said that the chairman of the political parties should imply some strategies on how to train there members on handling electoral activities.

According to him at the meeting on the forthcoming northern senatorial district by- election in the state,he made it clear to the party chairmen that they are the leaders of their parties and for that reason,he crave their indulgence on educating their member to do the write thing during elections.

He also urged them to play their own role effectively during elections and then forget the issues of all form electoral malpractice such as snatching of ballot boxes, buying of votes and some other forms , which means that they have set out ways of dealing with them.

Dr Emmanuel Hart made it very clear to party chairmen that many facilities including handbooks that contains some guidelines and procedures through which the electorates can protect themselves during elections and in order to hold a free and fair election.

"I have met with some agencies that are closely related in this issue of election which will really help in running a smooth election,such as the ministries of information, education and health,National Youth Service Corps (NYSC),the security agencies and even the government of the state,Gov. Ben Ayade".The REC Said.

"Though the date of the election has not been fixed,but when ever it may be we pray for peace election"
