Suspended EFCC Acting Chairman Released.

The EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu who was suspended over allegations of failure to properly account for loot recovered under his watch between May 2015 and May 2020 has been released yesterday as he was granted bail by Justice Ayo Salami.



This allegations were levelled against him by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

His lawyer who was complaining that his client has not appeared before by the panel for days has also confirmed to his released said that no term was given for Magu's release.

After one of Magu's lawyers wrote a letter to the inspector general of police,asking for the release of the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), he said that the police has no hand in Magu's detention for   failure to properly account for loot recovered under his watch between May 2015 and May 2020.

" If the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission is not found responsible and deserving blame for the allegations leveled  against him, his job should be given back to him by president Muhammadu buhari in order to comfirm his release",said Tosin Ojaomo,Magu's lawyer.

 Another report was made that Magu was not brought before the panel since last week Thursday, which shittu also made references on because, a certain letter reported that his client,Magu was grilled by the Panel on Monday, 13th July 2020, which he claims to be a complete falsehood."the real fact is the my client and his counsel were kept at the waiting room of the venue of the sittings unattended to before he was taken back to custody".
